HTML Color Names

There are 147 named colors in HTML 4.01 and CSS 2.1 color specification. Sixteen of the colors derived from VGA specification and the rest from the X11 color name scheme. You can find all these color names listed below along with its hex and decimal value. Hexadecimal codes can be used in CSS and most graphics tools.

Basic Color Names

The HTML 4.01 specification defines sixteen basic named colors. These colors are originally used as the standard EGA color palette. The CSS 2.1 specification defines the same number of named colors but adds the 'orange' color name to the list.
